Good catch, Alexander! hive.ppd.remove.duplicatefilters was added in 0.8.0 by HIVE-1538 <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-1538> (FilterOperator is applied twice with ppd on) without any description. It isn't documented in the wiki yet.
