+1. I performed the following: 1. Downloaded bin and src tarball and verified signature and checksum 2. Freshly initiated a mysql based metastore and ran Hive metastore service on top of it. 3. Created a simple table and queried it with Hive CLI. 4. Didn't test beeline, however.
