[~ashutoshc]: I think the failure is occuring as a result of HIVE-3435 not 
being applied to branch 0.9 as opposed to new failures being caused by this 
test.

How do we proceed in that case? Do we need to backport that patch and get it to 
succeed before moving forward with this one?
