Thejas M Nair commented on HIVE-4820:
-------------------------------------

Should we warn the user that the HIVE_HOME is being set to {$bin}/../.. , as
hive home is not defined ?
In an installation, it would be confusing to see errors saying that lib
directory was not found under HIVE_HOME, when the hive home was not specified
by the user, or based on hive in the PATH.

> webhcat_config.sh should set default values for HIVE_HOME and HCAT_PREFIX
> that work with default build tree structure

> Currently they are expected to be set by the user which makes development
> inconvenient.
> It makes writing unit tests for WebHcat more difficult as well.
