Regarding the statement in description:
bq. and if the database is owned by a role (rather than a user) the directory
must be
owned by the hive user.
The create database statement does not allow specifying the owner role. So this
is not currently applicable.
The ownership can be changed to another using or role only using admin role
privileges.
