While editing SHOW CONF <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/Hive/LanguageManual+DDL#LanguageManualDDL-ShowConf> and updating Configuring Hive <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/Hive/AdminManual+Configuration#AdminManualConfiguration-ConfiguringHive>, I wondered whether Beeline has a command similar to the CLI's "set" for either setting or showing the values of configuration parameters.
I also wonder whether --hiveconf (in Beeline or the CLI) can be used without giving a value, to show the current setting of a particular parameter. Would a Beeline expert please take a look at SHOW CONF <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/Hive/LanguageManual+DDL#LanguageManualDDL-ShowConf> and Configuring Hive <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/Hive/AdminManual+Configuration#AdminManualConfiguration-ConfiguringHive> and suggest revisions? -- Lefty
