Of course. In fact, since you are not listed in the initial committer
list in the proposal [1], you can't be added without an explicit vote
and invitation by the PPMC. So all good :)
Note that being a committer does not necessarily mean that you commit
code. You can also be awarded committership by contributing
documentation or help building the community.
