Hello Apache Hop Dev Team,

I have during this spring term done my Master Thesis, for a Master of
Science in Engineering Physics, looking at a way to speed up Apache
Hop and/or Pentaho Kettle with the help of code generation. Were the
idea is that new code should be created after no more modifications
are needed to the workflows and/or pipelines and then the generated
code just executes whats relevant. For the limited test cases I have
been able to do, this has resulted in about a 60% time reduction.

Omicron Ceti AB in Sweden came up with the subject and it is there I
have worked this spring. However, they don't right now have any active
plans to do more with it. Hopefully this subject or the results can be
of interest for you or perhaps the report can provide other insights.
I am happy to discuss more if you are interested.

The report can be found on:
http://umu.diva-portal.org/smash/record.jsf?aq2=%5B%5B%5D%5D&c=28&af=%5B%5D&searchType=LIST_LATEST&sortOrder2=title_sort_asc&language=en&pid=diva2%3A1771458&aq=%5B%5B%5D%5D&sf=all&aqe=%5B%5D&sortOrder=author_sort_asc&onlyFullText=false&noOfRows=50&dswid=-4257
.

And the public part of my code on: https://github.com/alexandersve/spop.

Excuse me if this wasn't the right mail-chain but the subject didn't
feel right for the general mail and I didn't know how else to reach
you.

Best Regards
Alexander Svensson
