Hi All, Following our somewhat regular release schedule the time has come to wrap up our 2.9 release. I will take the job as release manager an plan to cut the branch on the 17th of this month. If you are working on things that you would like to have included in this release make sure to wrap them up a couple of days before the cut-off date.
I would also like to take this moment to discuss 2.10. My personal opinion is that we should start moving forward to a Java 17 release. All the large projects we depend on have moved to Java 17 and Java 11 has entered the ramp-down support phase. Updating to a newer java version does not mean we should do a major release... I have performed a preliminary check and the upgrade should be fairly straight forward at first sight. We have about 50 tests failing but other than that everything seems to work.
