FWIW, I took a fresh CVS checkout and worker is restarting fine for me. Can anyone else reproduce this? I tried killing off processes (sending the child a SIGKILL directly), and worker spawned off a new process accordingly (yay!) - took about a second, but that's the idle server maint period, IIRC. > The original cause of the seg faults might be more dir_merge issues. > http://java.apache.org/james/dist/ fails fairly consistantly, and all of > the recent merge problems we've seen have been for directory URLs. GET /james/dist/ HTTP/1.1 Host: java.apache.org HTTP/1.1 302 Found Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2001 06:51:43 GMT Server: Apache/2.0.27-dev (Unix) Location: /james/dist/ Content-Length: 274 Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> <html><head> <title>302 Found</title> </head><body> <h1>Found</h1> <p>The document has moved <a href="/james/dist/">here</a>.</p> <hr /> <address>Apache/2.0.27-dev Server at java.apache.org Port 80</address> </body></html> jerenkrantz@daedalus% cat /www/java.apache.org/.htaccess | grep james RedirectMatch /james(.*) http://jakarta.apache.org/james$1 Looks like we're losing the vhost, so I think we may end up in an infinite loop situation here if the browser didn't detect this bogosity. I think this might be a mod_alias issue (RedirectMatch). I'll try to take a look at what is going on, but no promises as to when since I'm swamped with school stuff right now. If I'm looking at daedalus right, we're running on 2.0.27-dev now? I'm not seeing any corefiles, so are we still seeing merge issues? -- justin
