I created my key with two separate gpg commands.:
[gregames@gandalf gregames]$ gpg --fingerprint gregames
pub 1024D/6D791A41 2001-10-26 Greg Ames <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Key fingerprint = FA51 765D 3CE4 EB83 BFE1 BDB7 605E 165A 6D79
1A41
sub 1024g/3CB6C399 2001-10-26 [expires: 2011-10-24]
then
[gregames@gandalf gregames]$ gpg --export --armour gregames
-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----
Version: GnuPG v1.0.4 (GNU/Linux)

I got rid of the "sub" line from --fingerprint, then committed the
concatenation.
