Robert, thanks for the clarification.  

Stipe, I think what this means is that we need a patch against HEAD to
change the committed pthread serialization into
HAVE_NONE_SERIALIZED_ACCEPT for Cygwin (if for some reason that works
better than what you had before your latest serialization change).
