Out of curiosity, had you applied and stressed the new patch?

My reason for going on is that HTTP to the HTTPD port really doesn't
quite demand a reasonable reaction from the server.  We just happen
to be flexible enough to provide one.  But it's the error case, and I'd
rather keep licking these 'ssl falls down under load' issues till those
are resolved.
