I'm trying to remember... I know much more about buckets than I do about filters. What's being described here happens in the core output filter, as I recall, which is somebodye else's ball of wax. OtherBill, Brian, Justin, etc.... I'll see what I can dig up out of the dusty recesses of my ole' brain here though and get back to you. :)
