With httpd running and dispatching tons of requests to its faithful and
hardworking offsprings, we have the requirement of gathering real-time
(whatever that means) stats about incoming requests including certain
headers and other contents, IP and other info and communicating that info to
another process that could be residing on the same machine (if that can be
justified). The question is what is the best way of accomplishing this feat?
Shared memory (justification) or a tcp-connection? Given the Apache
architecture, what is the best means to accomplish this task?

Thanks a bunch.
