Apache 2.0.48 - mod_userdir won't serve from an nfs mount on Linux kernel
2.4.21-166-smp4G
Apache 1.3.x works fine but nothing comes out of Apache 2.
On the previous kernel it would serve files < 255 bytes but now it doesn't serve
anything.
The command to do the mounts:

ncpmount -S server -A server.org.uk -U user.org -P password
/mnt/public_html_dirs/server

the user doing the mount has enough privileges to see the public_html directories.
Apache can see them - just can't serve them!

Does anyone know of a workaround?
thanks,
Alistair
