My post was for developers. And I am well aware that many admins read this list too. But when I have a "mainly" admin post, like Windows Scripting for example, I use the Apache users list. Unless I'm trying to convert Wrowe! :) > Thus I think if we provide some information > we have to provide it to be subjected to > developers and not administrators as well. Sometimes they are both! But it was a developer post about a config tool. Most developers use config tools also. > If you say a developer "you must use a new utility, > Httpcfg.exe" I did not say anything. I quoted snips, just "parts" from an article, so that other "developers" will be a ware of this tool and how to adjust port usage with this config tool called HTTPcgf.exe. Hopefully they read the full article. > he will think that this is the only way If the "developer" only goes by "snips" of an article, that is the developer's "problem". > and will not think about that this is for > administrators, Hopefully every developer reads "all" of the link and understands the first rule of writing - who is the author's target. But developers, should not be bothered because it was written for "admins". Developers also read "admin" articles. :) >but he can use HTTP API. > So... For programs the developer did not write or have source for? Anway most developers I know will quickly use HTTPcfg.exe to get that process working as fast as possible with the HTTP.SYS device ( and then may be proceed to improving it). > But this is my own opinion.:) Okay. > I don't want to discuss about things like this.:) > But you took time to make a point out of it. :) But it's okay, I believe it's a language thing. So it's over.... :) Jeff
