That patch looks OK, have you sent it upstream (or checked whether it is

He said he was working on a new release and re-arranging that particular code.

PCRE 6.1 builds, installs and tests with -DDEBUG -o0 -g and I just built the 2.1.7 drop against it. Our trunk is on PCRE 5.0. Runs the test suite OK on Darwin 8.2.0.

We could drop in a more recent version of PCRE, or patch what we have.
