I'm determined to push through a patch for Bug 38515 - Dynamic LDAP Group Support, but I could use some input regarding the recommended approach. I've outlined a basic plan on the bug page (http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=38515) and would appreciate any comments more experienced developers have.
