I don't think that's our concern.  The downstream distros are moving targets 
just
as much as we are, and they'll each make their own decision on when to bundle
our new releases.  Upgrading a dependency is hardly going to be a showstopper!

That is, prevalent based on decisions made some time ago, probably in many
cases at the time they first moved from 2.0 to 2.2.
