It wouldn't matter. The delta between 2.3.x-beta and 2.4.0 is not a code freeze... it is API freeze, any public interfaces must be baked. We won't be changing ap_doit() to add or change an argument until 2.6.0, which could be a very long time. (Or a very short time, as the rapid progression of perl 5.10 -> 5.12 -> 5.14 had demonstrated.) But on each and every minor bump, modules must be recompiled and potentially ported to the new api. There is nothing public about the mechanics of the mpm_winnt connection pool, so further bug fixes (if applicable) have nothing to do with trying to promote httpd to 2.4.0.
