Hi,

I read a few days ago an article on LWN about SO_REUSEPORT socket option. (http://lwn.net/Articles/542629/)

I found an interesting presentation from Google which describe the mechanism, and its advantages. (http://linux.dell.com/files/presentations/Linux_Plumbers_Conf_2010/Scaling_techniques_for_servers_with_high_connection%20rates.pdf)

As far as I've read, this option is "not standard" but latest Linux kernel releases support it. I've not seen anything in Apache about it and I was wondering if it could be interesting and if it could be used in our threading models ?

Has anyone already tried to use it ? Any feedback or benchmark ?

Best regards,
CJ
