As far as Jens and I have been able to determine, there are no remaining edge cases once the critical patch in STATUS is applied to undo the erasure of the --enable-proxy-balancer=shared status, and to inherit that parent module's status as the default for the lbmethods. Still had an open question of whether there is any consumer of lbmethods such that they should still be built even when mod_proxy_balancer is not enabled? The other is nice-to-have but not so critical. The regression appears to be resolved once that backport is applied.
