Hi all, mod_fcgid has had no release since 2.3.9 (October 2013). Trunk has fixes that never shipped, Windows users run trunk builds from Apache Lounge, and Linux distributions carry their own patches. Mario Brandt suggested moving it into httpd, next to the other modules, so it gets built, released and fixed with httpd. I agree, and I'm offering to do the work:
1. Copy mod_fcgid trunk into httpd trunk as modules/fcgid, with its history. It already supports an in-tree build. 2. Wire the build (configure and CMake), move the docs into the manual, add tests to httpd-tests. 3. Bring in reviewed fixes: downstream patches and a few from Bugzilla, starting with FcgidWrapper paths containing spaces on Windows (PR 51194). 4. Propose the backport to 2.4.x once it is stable in trunk. After that, I'll keep looking after it, since I run mod_fcgid on Windows in production. There is no PHP-FPM on Windows, and mod_fcgid remains the way to run PHP over FastCGI there. Is there any objection to the move? If not, how would you like the import done: a committer doing the svn copy, then pull requests on apache/httpd for the rest? Best regards, Jamal Tantaoui
