Hey Ajantha,

As mentioned in the 1.7.2 DISCUSS thread, we don't want to leave the 1.7.x
version in a broken state. Since the 1.8.x ships with new features, it will
require more thorough testing. I still think it would be good to get 1.7.2
to the public ASAP.
