It seems like some operations can be optimized a lot, for example
{{BinaryReaderImpl::ReadTopObject<std::string>()}} reads string from the stream
byte by byte, makeing 2 additional calls to {{EnsureEnoughData()}} and
{{Shift()}} for every byte.
