+1 (non-binding) Checked out the 2.8.0-rc1 tag locally, built it from scratch. Started a local mini cluster and ran some basic tests like creates and inserts. Inspected the web UI and everything looked fine. Ran all backend and some random custom cluster tests locally and all of them passed.
