I cut the 2.9.0 branch at the commit I mentioned previously and began testing it: https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=incubator-impala.g it;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/branch-2.9.0
If all of my tests pass, I will publish a release candidate 1 (rc1) tarball tomorrow morning and create a [VOTE] thread. Reminder: The voting period is 72 hours (not including weekends). Only Impala PPMC members (and mentors) have binding votes.
