Yo Installation!
I had been hoping that with the introduction of )) 2.0 beta that there
would be a way to install this w/o rpms! My hopes are dahsed.
I have a large variety of 5 and even 10 year old Linux systems that
have been continously upgraded. These systems are now so idiosyncartic
that no RPM system has a chance of groking it. The old OO 1.0 install
procedure has been working just fine.
Hard enough for me to use RPMs, teching my clients how to do it will
never work.
Trying to force me to distro specific tools like rpm managers is a recipe
for disaster. It will seriously hinder my efforts to convert people
to OO.
When can we get a real install procedure for OO 2.0??
