You are not subscribed. I cc'ed you in this mail so you'll recieve it
directly.

There is no OOo autopackage file at the moment.

No, this is the reason why Top-posts with fullquote are bad.
You don't need different OOo-packages for each distro. There is one set
of RPMs, there is (will be) one set of debs.

Whether you split the distribution-integration packages up into several
packages or do hack a huge script that does the jobs is basiacally a
matter of personal taste, not of the used technology.

There is none yet.

Again: All this is *not* dependant on the package format. This could
have been implemented with both rpm and deb as well.

No. My reasons are personal. And remember: I am only an individual. I
don't speek for OOo as a whole and don't speak for installation either.

There are no techical things that hinder the creation of an autopackage.
It is just that I personally don't want to spend my time on this.

Maybe this as a technical note: OOo uses epm to create the rpms and
debs, but it should be easy to just use the created rpms, install them
into a fakeroot and just repackage the result.
Alternatively you can parse the epm files and create the package
"directly".

I conclude with the famous words: Patches welcome...
If you're willing to contribute the necessary bits to build an
autopackage within the OOo-buildsystem, please take ownership of issue
