Hi, I also noticed this “release” wasn’t discussed on the mailing list, again a reminder that things list this need to be discussed on the mailing list.
If this had been brought up earlier or the person that made the release had seen this thread [1] then you wouldn’t be in this situation. At a guess it seems this person isn’t subscribed to the mailing list? Can someone make sure they are so that this doesn’t happen again. Also remember it’s the PPMC role to make sure that releases follow ASF policy, I know you’re new to the ASF and still learning how it operates but I think someone on the PPMC should of caught this.
