For prudential reasons, I suggest if we release the cluster module in the next 1 to 3 (or more) versions, let's pack two release files, one is apache-iotdb and the other is apache-iotdb-cluster-alpha [2], to provide a stable single-node version and an experimental cluster version to users. I believe after more and more users trying, testing and contributing to the module, the module will be stable quickly. Then, I list some TODO tasks to wind up the issue, see [3].
