Hi all, In the last two years, we did not join the GSoC successfully ( one is due to the mentor request failed, and another is due to we did not get the slot (very few)).
Though we may still fail to be assigned a slot this year, but I still want to submit some proposals to have a try. IMO, there are two potential improvement/integrations we can support (from other discussions in the community): - Integrating gRPC/ProtoBuf to replace Thrift to see if there is performance/stability improvement. - Integrating Arrow to see if there is performance improvement for queries. Any idea? if ok, I will submit two JIRAs. (We do not need to submit too many proposals, because there is not a lot slots in GSoC...)
