Er, then the packages should be named 1.2.1. The problem with doing
all of our laundry in public is that the public often download our
unreleased packages even when we tell them not to. For that reason,
most Apache projects increment the patch-level number each time a
new package is produced (releases do not need to be sequential).
So, for that reason, I am -1. I know that keeping the version number
consistent across all of the maven packages could be a pain in the ass,
but we really should adhere to a policy of giving a unique version to
each releasable package set (even if it doesn't get released).
Otherwise,
we have no real way to ensure that people posting "bug reports" about
1.2 have actually installed what we think of as 1.2.
