Resolution: Duplicate
Upgrading the Lucene dependency in Jackrabbit is not that easy because
Jackrabbit integrates quite tightly into Lucene. See e.g. JCR-3106.
Resolving this as a duplicate of JCR-3696, which also requests an update of the
Lucene dependency.
In general, I suggest migrating from Jackrabbit to Oak. While Jackrabbit is
still maintained, active development has shifted to Oak. The most recent stable
Oak release 1.4.7 depends on Lucene 4.7.1.
