Well, it certainly looks as if the shell running the script doesn't
support "compgen" (remember
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JCR-4220).
This ticket was even opened by myself, but I didn't remember :)
But since then and the revision r23233, the check-release.sh forces the
use of Bash, so I assume this is not the same issue ...
Nevertheless, I checked the release manually in the meanwhile so here is
my +1
