Regarding your points:

2) This is necessary due to
https://github.com/apache/jackrabbit-filevault/pull/83#issuecomment-637952396,
I will make sure to configure the enforcer accordingly
3) I think using the approach from
https://help.github.com/en/github/using-git/configuring-git-to-handle-line-endings#per-repository-settings
is reasonable. Can you prepare a PR for that?
