Currently it is stated in

that
{quote}If empty the main artifact will not be validated but only the attached
artifacts with the given {{classifiers}}

Due to issue https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MNG-6434 it is currently
impossible to overwrite the default value by the empty or blank value.
Therefore another parameter needs to be added to allow excluding the main
artifact from being validated.
