In Oak, we use
https://github.com/apache/jackrabbit-oak/blob/trunk/oak-commons/src/main/java/org/apache/jackrabbit/oak/commons/OakVersion.java
for that. Should I replicate that, or is the approach used in the maven plugin
preferrable?
