I had a breakthrough with IDEA plugin framework (as in, found a piece of code that does similar to what I want to do) so I am going to start contributing in small pieces (while waiting to burp Renee).
I'll create a JIRA soon but thought I'll give you guys a heads-up. Let me know if there is any reason that I should not check-in.
