FYI: RC2 preparation in progress. I've also updated the release guide
with a section on cancelling the vote [1]. Specifically, I've added
instructions to git revert the release commit and push them, rather
than just reverting them locally.
I know we haven't had any consistent policy on this in the past (e.g.
compare 1.6.2 and 1.6.3 [2]). I like this approach because it retains
all the tags on which we've voted, even if they don't make it.
