The value I see in something like this is being able to ask questions of multiple people simultaneously and coordinate/expedite decisions. For example: - releases: what, when, how - specific decisions (such as the recent wiki change) - priorities (ie are more people interested in blobstore test fixes rather than the compute test fixes)
How do we decide as a community if something like irc meetings would be useful? Maybe we should have an IRC meeting about it :) I know some big communities do it, but I would really like to hear some more feedback from people before we try it!
