Do commits not get compiled & checked by jenkins before being permitted?
Yes, certainly - the CI status page is here [1]. We are currently in
the middle of a release, so if you're building from [2] this is most
likely a local issue, since multiple committers have successfully
verified the release by building that commit [3].
Which commit are you building from? Could you try to reproduce this
with a clean Maven repo?
