Agree. I also think that map should be removed from the blobstore. Just wanted to make sure we don't break any existing user's code (I was planning to use a persistent credential store, so I assumed there could be someone already using it).
Perhaps a quick ask to the ML to see if someone is actually using a persistent credential store? My main concerns are about an existing feature that might disappear (although users can still implement their Map implementation, it is not trivial).
