The POM is set to Java6.

When I do final build for a release, I may use a Java7 install but of course it's generating java6 class files.

The key is not just the language but checking the runtime library use.

My development setup is using a real Java6 so both language and Java runtime are checked rigorously. For me, both must pass to be good enough to go for a release.

(and IIRC Jenkins is set to use real java6)

FYI

Java 6 end-of-life is approaching.

End of public updates is next month (Feb 2013).
End of public updates for Java7 is currently July 2014.
Java8 is scheduled for Sept 2013 (and feature complete this month)

Jena 2.10 is the next release.

Thoughts on migration?
