Hi,
I am wondering what JDK7 specific features Jena is planning to use?
Speaking personally, many of the language changes are fairly minor (<>,
multi-catch, strings in switch) but worth using. I can see them creeping in.
try-with-resources is a more substantial improvement, since it improves
the chance you'll do the right thing: clean up resources, and not
swallow exceptions when cleaning up. (That last one is especially
tedious pre-7)
JVM changes beyond the usual performance improvements (i.e.
invokedynamic) are unlikely to be used, although compiling SPARQL
expressions to the JVM would be a fun project.
The library changes are (iirc) mostly around the new file api
(finally!). There isn't much messing with files in jena, but the new API
is so much more useful it may be worth cleaning things up at some point.
