I've started to do some work on this. I have almost-working code, not yet ready
for merging, but soon should be. When I have something ready for consideration
I will do a pull request on GitHub.
In any case I want to wait for Alex's jena-text changes to be merged first. But
just FYI, in case someone else has plans for this.
