A. Soroka commented on JENA-960:
--------------------------------
My hope is to at least replace a good portion of the CLI machinery with an
off-the-shelf part and also to rework some of the execution machinery as well.
I don't know if there are any really terrible problems with the current CLI
formats, but it's worth pointing out that this conversation started because of
JENA-959, which concerns itself with just such a question. Also, _if_
significant changes are ever to be made to the CLI machinery, isn't a major
version jump just the time to do it?

> The current machinery supporting Jena's CLI tools is too sophisticated to be
> replaced entirely by off-the-shelf parts, but it is also scattered across
> several modules. That's not necessary and it could be improved by
> constructing a centralizing module {{jena-cmd}}. This module would depend on
> SDB, TDB, and any other module that exports CLI tools as products.
