In the specific situation for the fuseki script, there are ways to fix it:
# Comment the line out because of RHEL 6 / Centos6. (It is not in the non "su"
branch.)
# Move the message outside the exec because it will pick up the script-scoped
default if not replaced.
The "su -" stops {{export -f}} working.
