HttpClient and authentication - preferred style?

What was decided about the preferred style for authentication / HttpOp?
Was it calls with HttpClient + HttpContext?

I was getting RDF Connection [1] sorted out and reflecting the preferred 
style we're aiming for HttpOp would be good.
